Volunteer
We are looking for warm hearted, caring people to join our team and support our patients and families as a hospice volunteer. Our volunteers serve as companions, sitters and provide emotional support to patients and their family members. Additionally, our volunteers can read enouraging literature to patients, watch a movie or a show, provide music therapy and other meaningful services as needed. We have a mandatory orientation process, then the volunteers are assigned patients based on our patients needs, the volunteers interests and talents. Some volunteers serve once a month, others serve several times a week. The hours are flexible. Our goal for the volunteer program at Gentiva is to create beautiful experiences not only for our patients and families but for our volunteers as well.
